In early 2019, MUSE Community + Design and Civiltech Engineering held a Design Workshop for the Village of Glen Ellyn. Timed to coincide with an annual Indoor Sidewalk Sale, the event sought input from residents and business owners on a number of topics pertinent to the Village’s Streetscape & Utility Improvements project for its charming and historic Downtown.
Advertised online and via social media, the Workshop was well attended by business owners and residents of all ages, business owners, and others. Despite colder-than-usual temperatures that weekend, we handed out ~90 comment cards to attendees who provided rich commentary and insight about their preferences for future Streetscape & Utility improvements for Downtown Glen Ellyn.
After signing in, attendees had access to six stations, each with varying degrees of interactivity, and with activities for all ages, plus informational kiosks and displays that educated or sought input from attendees.
